"The experience of walking may be seen as a kind of writing on the surface of the ground. It is a trace of movement which seems to discover a particular place. Fragments of various hypothetical movement patterns generate a geometry that become woven into reality in such a way it is capable of engendering new shapes. These traces occupy the entire space"
Kenneth Frampton, Places and Architecture, 1992.
Sick building syndrome - SBS or “building
related illness”:
(1) a human health condition in which infections linger, caused by exposure
to contaminants within a building as a result of poor ventilation.
(2) building whose occupants experience acute health and/or comforts effects
that appear to be linked to time spent therein, but where no specific illness
or cause can be identified. Complaints may be localised in a particular zone,
or may spread throughout the building and may abate on leaving the building.
